John Zapotocky – President
John has led Pacific Rim Land, Inc., since 1991. During that time PRL has expanded from a single project to a multi-project enterprise in Hawaii. PRL has also established a presence as a real estate investor in Texas, and Idaho, as well as throughout Washington state.
John’s previous experience in the Hawaiian development industry includes staff and management positions with Kaiser Aetna, Wailea Development Company, Mokuleia Homesteads and as a self-employed consultant to a variety of Hawaiian developers.
John is a graduate of the University of Hawaii – College of Business Administration with a B.A. in Economics, and an M.B.A. and post graduate work in Finance. He has been a community bank director in Texas and Washington states and is involved in professional and community organizations.

Blanca Lafolette – Project Coordinator
Blanca joined the PRL team in July 2004. Her background includes property management, and retail leasing for the commercial property division for one of Maui’s largest landowners. Blanca also brings to PRL experience in law representing investors, partners, and principals in land development. Current projects for PRL include the development of a light industrial center and a retail shopping center. Blanca is involved in both professional and community organizations on Maui, and a member and past president of the Maui Contractors Women’s Auxiliary.

Desiree A. P. Lopes – Administrative Assistant
Desiree is a Maui girl, born and raised here on Maui. She is a graduate of Kamehameha Schools. Desiree brings 20 years of experience to PRL as an Administrative Assistant, 18 years of which were dedicated in legal disciplines working for Maui attorneys specializing in the fields of real estate, real property, business and estate planning.
She is a member of the International Association of Administrative Professionals, Toastmasters International, Maui Contractors Women’s Auxiliary, and a Leader at King’s Cathedral & Chapels.

Steve Perkins – Project Coordinator
Steve joined Pacific Rim Land as a Project Coordinator in July 2008. Previously, he was a Program Director with the Maui Economic Development Board, Inc. (MEDB). In his eight years at MEDB he was responsible for business attraction, retention, and expansion. He was Project Manager for the design, construction, financing, and leasing for MEDB’s Ke Alahele Center. He also negotiated and managed the installation of -at the time- the largest solar photovoltaic array in Maui County. Steve is currently the Project Coordinator for the Maui Research and Technology Park.
Steve is a member of the Hawaii Clean Energy Initiative, the Maui County Energy Alliance, and the Maui County Solid Waste Resource Advisory Committee. He is also the volunteer information technology consultant for “A Keiki’s Dream”.
He has a B.S. in Management and Business Information Systems from George Fox University in Newberg, OR.
